Just want to give a quick shout-out to Laptop Rescue ! My Dell Studio 15's LCD die in a blaze of pixels last week. I was working away, and the next thing it looked like an 8-bit era technicolour crash, then blank. Screen was black but the backlight was still going. Connecting a monitor to the VGA showed an image. I wanted it fixed in a hurry, so I googled and called around. I delivered it to Laptop Rescue on Dec 30, 2009, and they called me back on Dec 31, saying that it was ready to go. $295 for the repair (dry joints on the LCD controller board), and a three month warrenty on the repair.
